CROSS PLAINS-Amelia "Milly" Acker Kelter, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on September 17, 1936, the daughter of John and Rose (Wagner) Acker, in her parent's home in the town of Berry. Milly was united in marriage to Donald "Tubby" Kelter on May 5, 1956 in Cross Plains. She was a strong, caring and loving wife and mother. Milly and her husband were proprietors of Tubby and Milly's Bar. Milly was an avid bowler, she loved Wheel of Fortune and gambling and tending to her wild birds. She was a woman of strong faith who always reminded us "gotta keep the faith". Milly is survived by her dear friend of 22 years, Robert Blum; children, Dennis (Marsha) Kelter, Cheryl Kelter (Jake Niesen), Dale "Crowbait" (Sandy) Kelter, and Judy Kelter-Ketelboeter; grandchildren, Dawn and Diana Kelter, Meagan, Ryan (Jessica) and Devin Lowenberg, Tanya Rose, Donny, Katarena and Dustin Ketelboeter; her siblings Margaret Lamberty, Sister Haroldine Acker, Sister Elmerine Acker, Harold (Elaine) Acker and Leonard (Nancy) Acker; sisters-in-law, Sally Breunig, Viola Pearson, Delores Acker, Susan Acker and Diane Acker and a brother-in-law Leander Kelter. Milly was preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents; siblings Leander Acker, Edward Acker, Elmer Acker, Sister John Roses Acker and John Acker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains at 11 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2015 with Father Thomas Kelley and Monsignor Gerard Healy co-celebrating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 3 PM until 7 PM and also on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Francis Endowment Fund.Come to me sweet JesusCome to me and stayFor I love you JesusMore than I can say.

Milly and her husband Tubby were great friends with my parents Greg and Mary Esser and the Esser family. Both ran family bars. Many of the village's problems were solved in and at Tubby and Milly's bar. They all had real love for the town people and the people loved them back. Heaven just got another angel and I am sure she is up in Heaven with my parents as well as the friends she had that passed before going over old times.
Milly, as Bob Hope said, 'Thanks for the Memories' and as Roy Rogers said, 'Happy Trails to you until we meet again' You will be missed by all. Say hi to everyone up in Heaven for me!
