February 15, 1935 - June 19, 2015
Obituary
MADISON-Tatiana "Tania" Repecka-Welyczko, age 80, fell asleep in the Lord on June 19, 2015, with her spouse of 58 years present at her side. Tania was born February 15, 1935 in Stryj, Western Ukraine. She survived the horrors of the WWII throughout Europe, but tragically was separated and lost her parents, Zenobia Heichel and Joseph Repecki. Tania's Uncle and Aunt who were with them took Tania under their care and together they left Europe for Buenos Aires, Argentina. In Bueno Aires, Tania married Gregory Welyczko and they were blessed with first son, Roman Welyczko. Together they applied at the US Embassy to immigrate to the USA. After seven years of waiting finally came their turn to come to the USA. After the five years of the required permanent residence Tania, Gregory and Roman applied for and received with great gratitude and pride the US citizenship. To help her husband to build their life, Tania worked for 38 years, first at the renown Rennebohm Drug Store and then at the Walgreens Drug stores where she touched many and is missed by many. Tania never forgot the hunger and miseries during the WWII in Europe and so for many years Tania was preparing food and buying food for the Luke house, Community Meal Program. At home, Tania was passionate to cultivate flowers, house plants and enjoyed being busy in her tiny garden. Tania is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Welyczko, her devoted sons, Roman Welyczko, with loved spouse Laurie Pinard and their cherished daughter/granddaughter, Kira. Also by a second son, Andrew Welyczko his loved spouse Katy Welyczko and their cherished daughter/granddaughter Molly E. Welyczko. Tania is survived by her sister Alexandra Robak and relatives in Western Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Tania's family would like to extend a most heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their exceptional diligence, compassionate and professional care for Tania during her residence and final days. The same most sincere thank you is extended to Gunderson Funeral Home for absolutely excellent services and compassionate assistance in all aspects of funeral arrangements. There will be no visitation and all the services will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Agrace Foundation, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. Tania will be sent to eternal rest at the Holyrood Catholic Cemetery of the Archdiocese of Seattle, WA. A Service of Christian Burial will take place at the Holyrood Cemetery in Seattle, WA.
