Joan M. Elver (Clemens)

MIDDLETON/DANE-Joan M. Elver, age 83, of Middleton, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Brookdale-Middleton. She was born on April 24, 1932, in Dane, the daughter of Herman and Verli (Madigan) Clemens. She married Charles Elver at St. Michael Catholic Church in Dane. Joan was a mother of three daughters, who was focused on raising her children and helping her husband on dairy farms in Florida and Georgia. She returned to Dane in the early 60's with her daughters. Joan worked for Graber Industries for many years. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Middleton. Joan is survived by her daughter, Denise Allen of Cairo, Ga.; son-in-law, Richard Haney of Roscoe, Ill.; grandchildren, Sara (Earl) Laliberte, Devon Haney and Kristin Curles; great-grandchild, Ryder Leliberte; sisters, Phyllis (Art) Hellenbrand of Waunakee, Kay (Bob) Gapikowski of Franklin and Sandra (Ralph Yearous) Schmitz of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her daughters, Carla Haney and Cheryl Halstrom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MICHAEL CATHOLIC CHURCH - BLESSED TRINITY PARISH, 109 S. Military Rd., Dane, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, with the Rev. Father Chad M. Droessler presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
