Audrey at work was a very special person. Her integrity, skills, and management of resources and people over her entire working life was consistently of the highest caliber. In a group of highly-strung specialists she was a source of calm, no-nonsense, thoughtful, professional support in every imaginable way. As her nominal supervisor over a portion of this period I pay tribute to her willingness to be — “One of the Best”. Thank you, Audrey, from all of us. Don Gaines

You were my busy, busy, Sister! Always baking, sewing, gardening, painting-- pictures and the house--, walking the dog , writing letters, writing your autobiography, being a wife, being a sister and aunt, loving your children and grandchildren, volunteering at the church, singing in the choir, cooking church suppers, writing and researching the church history., all while being a support system to a group of professors at the University of Wisconsin. You will be so missed. Well done, my dear Audrey, well done!

My Dear Aunt Audrey, I remember my Mom, Audrey's sister, Marilyn, always looking forward to letters in the mail from Audrey. The letters were always multiple pages and usually had some comical observations about everyday situations. Most of my memories of Audrey were of her & Bob's visits to the resort on Lake Vermilion to see Marilyn , her husband, and the three of us kids. I always enjoyed her company and her straight-from-the-heart advice. For my graduation, she gave me beautiful sweaters that I treasured/wore for years afterward. The butterfly represents Marilyn's and Audrey's secret code to one another. Audrey & Marilyn shared the same birth date - four years apart. Marilyn always gave Audrey something w/butterflies. It was their "thing". They were "peas in a pod"... and I will miss my Aunt Audrey very much. Audrey & Marilyn are now together once again. Rock on Audrey.... and hugs to you and my Mom.
