Foster, Carolyn Anne "Carol" (Stanek)
MADISON-Carolyn Anne "Carol" (Stanek) Foster, age 63, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015. She was born on Feb. 22, 1952, in Urbana, Ill., the daughter of Floyd and Mable (Swanson) Stanek. Carol was married 10 years to Robert W. Foster, Jr. of West Virginia. After living in seven states, she came back to her Midwest roots in 2002. Carol's integrity and enthusiasm for life made her special to many who knew her. She had a passion for camping, hiking and creative endeavors. Carol worked in the financial non-profit sector because she wanted to 'make a difference'. She is survived by her mother, Mable of Middleton; and cousins and friends throughout the country. Carol was preceded in death by her father; and husband. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at 4 p.m. at UW MADISON ARBORETUM, 1207 Seminole Hwy, Madison. I'll always be grateful for the support she gave me through my divorce when she gave me a place to land as I sorted out my life. She was a free spirit and I think of her often. I hope you'll give her a few moments of thought and think of your most favorite memory of her. I think of her every time I eat ice cream since she taught us all, but most importantly, Monet and Marissa, that it was ok to lick the bowl when having your favorite frozen treat.
She has a special place in my heart.
