Mildred H. Munn

" MADISON - Mildred "Teen" Munn passed away unexpectedly, at home, on Friday Oct. 30, 2015. Teen was 5' nothing and was full of vigor and spunk. Mildred "Teen" Knoll was born in Racine on Feb. 3, 1923, where she spent her formative years. In high school, she was a cheerleader and played softball. Teen moved to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., where she finished high school and met Ford Munn. They were married when he returned from World War II in the Pacific. During the war, Teen worked in a ball bearing plant in New York. They moved to Wisconsin in 1948. In 1956, Ford and Teen moved to Monona, where they remained until Ford's death in 1982. Teen was active in the community and was an avid bowler, remaining in leagues into her 70's. She also loved golf, playing until she was 85, and cribbage and bridge, playing both games until the end of her life. Teen was a jokester and loved to tell a good (or bad) story, some of which were not always repeatable. She traveled, including a cruise, a trip to Hawaii, England and Scotland and a number of trips to Las Vegas. Teen worked for a variety of businesses over the years, including Norm's Mobil Homes, the carpet department of Rowley & Schlimgen, Hilldale Shopping Center, Anderson Alcoholic Rehabilitation Center, and Independent Living, Inc. She did not retire at 65 but worked until she was 84 and was an active member of AA for 42 years. Teen also loved to watch the Badgers and the Packers beat those teams from "up north". Teen is survived by her son, Ford (Lucinda) Randall; daughter, Sara; grandsons, Bradley (Tara) and Trevor (Rita); two great-grandsons, Andrew and Alexander; her long-time friend, Linda Watson and her family, Suzanne (Bill) Vlasak with Chad and Monica; and Bill Cadorette with Amanda and Carsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ethel Knoll; husband, Ford; son, David; brother, Sonny Knoll; her dear aunt and uncle, Ola and Cliff Junceau; and Linda's daughter, Laurie Cadorette. A Celebration of Teen's life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday Nov. 5, 2015, with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
