Obituary

MADISON-N. Edith "Edie" Hill, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 18, 1920 in Rice Lake, the daughter of the Rev. George and Ethel (Monks) Edwards. Edie enjoyed sewing. She had a green thumb and spent many hours in the garden. Edie was also musically talented. She enjoyed sharing her gift by playing the piano, guitar, and singing in the church choir, along with many duets with her sister. Edie is survived by her son, William (Cindy) Grunert; grandchildren, Scott (Jill) Grunert and Jennifer (Ben) Braeger; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; sister, Ruth Czerepinski-McNeill; nieces and nephews, Ralph (Donna) Czerepinski, Virginia Domini, David (Michele) Czerepinski, John (Karen) Czerepinski, Kareema (Ahmed Jazzar) Czerepinski, and Edie Illinski; numerous Edwards nieces and nephews; and special friend and caretaker, Kelley Proctor. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harold Grunert and Harold Hill; and brothers, Clarence "Noel" Edwards and George Edwards. Funeral services will be held at MONONA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 606 Nichols Rd., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, with the Rev. Brad Van Fossen presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made to Monona United Methodist Church. We lost our "Mrs. Claus" today. She will be missed dearly. Special thank you goes to her caretakers at Angels Loving Care for their wonderful care. Edith was the most kind person that I knew, she always had a smile. She and Ed never missed a concert of my Mothers. I knew both of them for many years, working, attending concerts. I shall miss her generousity and kind heart. I consider myself very lucky to have know her. Joanna Gersbach
