Obituary
GLIDDEN/MADISON/NEW LONDON-Jerry Dexter, age 73, of Glidden, Wis., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Park Manor Nursing Home, in Park Falls, Wis. He was born on April 13, 1942, in New London, Wis., the son of Chester and Viola (Zirbel) Dexter. Jerry graduated from New London High School in 1960, attended River Falls University and graduated from the Milwaukee Mortuary School of Science in 1965. In 1965, he married RoseMarie Rein of Glidden, Wis., and they moved to Monona, Wis. He was a funeral director for 39 years with Gunderson Funeral Homes serving, Madison, Monona, Oregon, Middleton and Cross Plains and retired in 2002. After retiring, they divided their residence between their northern Wisconsin home and their condo in Sun City Center, Fla. Jerry was a past president of the Sunrise Optimist Club of Madison, past president of the Oregon Rotary Club, Oregon Chamber of Commerce Board member, Park Falls Masonic Lodge No. 300, Park Falls Flambeau Clowns, Zor Shrine, Oregon Zor Shrine Wranglers, and the Sun City Center Florida Shrine Club. Jerry is survived by his wife, RoseMarie; and his brother-in-law, E. Michael "Mike" Seybert of Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia "Pat" Seybert in 2011. A Memorial service will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 76372 Lenz Rd., Glidden, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, with Pastor Jacob Stenkel presiding. Burial of ashes will be in Most Precious Blood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, c/o Zor Shrine, 575 Shrine Place, Madison, WI 53719. A special thanks to Flambeau Home Health and Hospice, Park Manor Nursing Home and Marshfield Clinic Park Falls Center for Jerry's excellent care and genuine concerns. Rosie we send you much sympathy in your loss of Jerry. Randy and I are very sad to hear this. I have wonderful memories of Jerry when I was a teenager living in the apartments next to Gunderson Funeral Home.Out of many one special memory is Jerry and you taking Chet and Molly and myself to see the lights all over Madison at Christmas time and I do mean all over! Also have fond memories of all the things he did in Oregon for the Village. Rest in peace Jerry I bet Chester has a lot to tell you and jokes galore ! Love, hugs and prayers Rosie.

Rosie - I was so sad to learn of Jerry's passing. This picture is so expressive of who Jerry was - friendly and kind eyes, a smile on his face. I will always remember you telling stories of his love of being part of the Wranglers and going to parades and shows they would do. Rosie I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prays. I called my Mom and she was very upset to hear that. You and Jerry were the best when we were younger. My brother Mike and I would love to come over and visit. I remember the big sound system in the living room. We always thought we were special when we could come and visit.
