Oh Bob and Jim and your families, Phil and I are indeed saddened by the death of your mom and grandma. She and Ed were our good neighbor for so many years. She and Ed were good solid people who lived their lives with beautiful simplicity . I still remember the first day I met her in the early spring of 1965. We were both outside hanging up clothes (people did that in those days). Your mom called me over with an excited voice and told me to look and see what was in the basket on top of the picnic table. There was a little baby boy! She was so proud and thrilled. So Jim, that is the story of how I first met you. What a cute baby you were - and of course there was the little toddler, Bob, that we soon met too. We have missed your mom since she moved but have wonderful memories. She was always so welcoming - even toward the end when she accidentally pressed her medical alert and would be sitting there calmly - TV blaring - while the fire department knocked on her door.
Loosing an elderly parent is never an unexpected event - but when it actually happens it is still a tremendous jolt. Phil and I are in Florida now and will not be home for the funeral. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all that day and moving forward. Sending our deepest sympathy,
Mary Lu and Phil Anderson
