RACINE/MADISON – George Henry Zebell, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Madison. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Southern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI. I am very saddened to hear of George's passing. George was a very caring and compassionate person. I shot my very first deer as did my children hunting with George on his land up north ! We also got our first turkey hunting that same land !! We met while attending a Ducks Unlimited dinner here in Racine back in 1976 !!!! I think of him often !! Our loss is Heaven's gain !!! He's probably busy up there carving figurines of angels !!!

I'm sorry to hear of George's passing. He was such a good guy! I recently came across this photo from the late 1960's. It reminds me of all the good times we had up at "the farm"; trying to play Scrabble in the semi-darkness, tramping all over the property and cooking on that old stove. It saddens me that nearly all of the members of his generation are gone now. Rest in peace, George, you deserve it!
