Winnie DuBois

MONONA-Winnie DuBois, age 98, of Monona, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016. She was born on June 19, 1917, in Austin, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Eletta Houff. She married Charles DuBois on Jan. 29, 1942, in Madison. Winnie worked for Ben Franklin for 30 years. She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Monona. Winnie was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and she and Chuck were also quite involved with the Zor Shrine Clowns. Winnie is survived by her son, William (Donna) DuBois; grandchildren, Teri O'Connor, Fred (Susan), Charlie, Jon (Laurie Forrest), Bret (Dawn) and Brenda (Will) Seidl; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Virgil Houff; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; son Fred; great-grandson, Michael O'Connor; and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016. A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Health United Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
