MADISON/DEFOREST—David Eugene Ophime, age 89, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was born on Sept. 1, 1926, in Lodi, the son of Edward and Ruth Ophime. David attended Madison East High School. He retired in 1988 after working many years in the concrete business. David was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast. He had a creative side that included wood carving and taxidermy. David is survived by his wife, Lois of 63 years; sons, Jerry (Debbie) and Jeff (Jerry Wingate); two grandchildren, Chad and Chelsea; and sister, Helen Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory; two brothers, Donald and Harold; and sisters, Evelyn Lovejoy and Edith Irene, as a young child. Friends may join the family for a graveside service at HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS, 3054 Hwy BB., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 2, 2016, followed by a luncheon at noon, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison. Dave was a great uncle, when i was young Dave would take me huntting i would walk with him on Grandmas farm Dave would hunt everthing squirrels, rabbits, grouse, pheasant you name it...also huntting deer with gun and bow, he was a natural Outdoorsman, Dave took us fishing in boat many times thanks Dave for the great memories i will never forget...miss you love Randy....
