NAPLES, FLORIDA/ MIDDLETON-Marguerite (Margie) Hamilton, age 54, passed away in Naples Florida on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. She was born on September 19, 1961 in Decatur Illinois and grew up in Middleton Wisconsin. Margie excelled as an athlete. She was a founding member of Middleton High School's first girl's golf team. Margie graduated from Middleton High School in 1980 then attended UW Madison for two years before deciding to move to Florida. She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in Environmental Science in 2009. She also received her GIS certification from Penn State. She spent much of her time in Florida working with a commercial landscaper. She was passionate about wildlife and loved animals. In her free time she worked with the tortoises at Barefoot Beach in Naples and assisted with the study and protection of the Sea Turtles that came ashore to bury their eggs. She was a diehard Packer and UW Badger fan. Margie is survived by her parents, Robert and Laura (Lucy) Hamilton of West Palm Beach Florida, her twin brother Bill (Brad) Hamilton of Austin Texas, her sister Kathy (Larry) Esser and her three nieces, Michelle, Natalie and Melanie Esser all of Cross Plains and her friends from Middleton and Florida who cared about her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, uncles, aunt and her cousin Bobby Good. Margie will be remembered for her hard work ethic, wonderful smile and sense of humor. She was a beloved friend to many. Condolences to Bill and the Hamilton clan - I played golf with Margie at Middleton High School and she was always the group leader and team captain. She taught me golf etiquette and composure on the course. We all looked up to her. She will be missed!
