Obituary

MADISON-C. Roger Barringer, age 87, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Fountainhead Homes, surrounded by family. He was born on Dec. 8, 1928, in Madison, the son of Floyd and Jessie (Santa) Barringer. Roger graduated from Central High School in 1948 and married Betty Jane Philipp on July 30, 1949, in Madison. He worked at Alliant Energy Center, Loomis Armored Truck, Stop-N-Go and Oscar Mayer Foods. Roger enjoyed the Packers, Wisconsin Football, Brandy Manhattans and spending time with his neighbors, family and friends. Roger is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Tony) Krebs of Marshall; two sons, Tim of Mazomanie and Dan (Sherry) of Columbus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Janet of Rosemount, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; son, Bob; three brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 4 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of his wife, Betty, or to the Henry Vilas Zoo. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
