Obituary
WATERTOWN/LODI-Robert "Bob" E. Messinger, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 surrounded by his family. Bob was 82 years old. He was born on March 26, 1934 to Edmund and Dorothy Messinger in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Throughout his life he enjoyed his horses, hunting, fishing and heavy machinery. Bob Volunteered at the MacKenzie Environmental Center during maple syrup making time. In 1952 he joined the Marines to serve his country. Bob was very proud to be an American. On July 18, 1959, he married Audrey Seignemartin and was married for 57 years. Bob worked as an Operating Engineer Local 139 until his retirement. In 1968, he moved from Milwaukee to a hobby farm outside of Watertown, Wisconsin. He resided in Sugar Island for 37 years and moved to Okee Bay so he and his family could enjoy lake life. Bob is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughters, Suzie Messinger and Sandra (Jim) Jensen; six grandchildren, Brianna, Kama and Samantha Jensen and Maggie, Olivia and Kaden Rasa and one great granddaughter, Sophia Jensen-Howe. He is also survived by his sister, Bette Wallen; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at LAKE WISCONSIN EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, N1640 Ryan Road, Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 with Pastor Scott Larson presiding. Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Little People of America. Rest in peace Uncle Bob. Although you scared the begeebers out of me as a kid, I got to see you with your children and grandchildren. and found that you weren't really soooo scarey. Seeing you with your children and then grandkids, you really were an "old softie". I'm glad I got to see that. We'll miss you. Love Sheri and famiily
