Peter "Pete" Scalissi

Peter "Pete" Scalissi, age 42, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on Jan. 21, 1974, in Madison, the son of Gil and Heidi (Bentz) Scalissi. Pete was a talented artist who could sketch anything you wanted him to and carried with him a charismatic personality which would bring smiles when he entered a room. The EST grew up together and remained unconditional friends. No matter how much time had passed since you had seen Pete, you were able to feel as if it were yesterday. We admired him for always looking out for others, never holding a grudge and never refusing a friend. He gave so much and asked for so little in return. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children. The days spent fishing, going to soccer games, swim meets or just hanging out were his best days. Pete was always the go-to guy, no matter what the task, he was always a hard worker and wanted to help a friend in need. His craftsmanship in flooring was impeccable and was his passion. Any job that Pete had, he gave his all. Pete is survived by his children, Joseph Scalissi and Alayna Scalissi and their mother, Peggy Carroll; son, Kayne Scalissi and their mother, Sonja Rupp; four uncles, Mike (Kathy) Bentz, Daniel Bentz, Terry (Marlene) Benz and David (Dena) Bentz; aunt, Barbara (Thomas Knorr) Bentz; and the love of his life, Danielle Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Arlene Bentz and Donald Bentz; and paternal grandparents, Gloria Scalissi and Joseph Scalissi. Private services will be held.
