I spent much of my teenage years at RIck and Pat's house, they always welcomed me and Kellen's other brood of friends always taking over the house , crashing in the basement, laughing to all hour s of the night, playing shaving cream ping pong and making a crazy big mess. I also remember when Jana was visiting and the big dinner we had to celebrate my birthday and Jana's going away. You and Pat hosted are huge group. I will always remember your kind smile and your hearty laugh. You raised a beautiful family and will be missed greatly. Sending my thoughts and warm thoughts and love to Kellen, Pat, Dylan, Ryan, and Jordan. If any of you need anything please feel free to contact us.

Rick was one of my dad's best friends and also a co-worker at Lawrence Brothers in Sterling. They would hunt and fish together all of the time. One time my dad invited me to go wild black berry picking with him and Rick. My dad told me to follow Rick because he knew where all of the black berries were. I was on Rick like glue, the poor guy couldn't leave me behind no matter what. I followed him all day. I'm sure my dad was laughing. Rick gave me the nick name "step and a half" because I was always a step and a half behind him all day. The nick name stuck with me so whenever Rick would see me that's what he would call me. I would also babysit for Rick and Pat's two oldest girls. I looked at their library and found an Abby Hoffman book titled "Steal this Book". That made for good reading since I was about 14 years old. My memories of Rick will be of a man who loved his wife, family, and the outdoors. He had a beard and a smile and would make my dad laugh. Now they can get together and laugh again.
