Obituary

MADISON-Richard H. "Dick" Roterud, age 67, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, Ariz. He was born on Sept. 2, 1950, in Milwaukee, to Gilbert V. and Elizabeth Roterud. Richard graduated from La Follette in 1969.  Richard worked for many years at Findorff Construction. He will be remembered for his outstanding mechanical ability, his love of fishing and animals. Richard is survived by his sister, Caryn (Mark) Hazeltine; brother, Charles (Jill) Roterud; former wife, Kathy Jones-Roterud, and her daughter, Amber. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Dick was my husband Kevin's best man. This was taken the first time I met Dick when the guys went target shooting. We will miss him greatly. Please let us know when the memorial service will be held so we can say our farewells. Blessed be Dick, we love you, Kevin & Lisa Legler

Very sorry to hear of Dick's death. I remember him working on cars, especially Bobby's hot rod Nova. He influenced me to want to get my hands dirty more than I ever realized. Still love messing with all things mechanical.. Thanks Dick. RIP.
