Charles "Chuck" C. Cook

LODI-Charles C. “Chuck” Cook, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society Lodi. He was born on January 2, 1924 in Madison, the son of Charles E. and Nellie C. (Franks) Cook. Chuck served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Chuck went to beauty school and worked at Busch’s Beauty Shop where he met his future wife Mary Edwards. They were married on May 7, 1949. In 1951, they moved to Lodi and owned and operated the Lodi Beauty Salon until they retired in 2000. He enjoyed many activities, especially curling, golf, flying and horses. Chuck was well liked and respected in the community. He was a quiet, kind man. A compassionate man, Chuck gave of his time and resources to many in the community, usually unnoticed and always unspoken.Chuck is survived by his daughters, Carolyn (Deane) Haag, Tykie (Don) Wescott and Barb Cook; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; daughter, Lori and brothers, Beldon, Raymond and Irvin.Funeral Services will be held at Gunderson Lodi Funeral and Cremation Care, 157 South Main St., Lodi, at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 with Reverend Cyndi Wunder presiding. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lodi Woman’s Club Public Library and American Legion Post #216.
