Obituary

MADISON- On Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, Rhoda watched her last sunrise as she waited for the Lord to come take her to be with her husband Lyle, so they could enjoy a cup of coffee together. Rhoda was a very determined person. As she did throughout her life, she fought a good fight but was ready to be reunited with Lyle. Rhoda was born Jan. 21, 1931, and lived a very active life. Besides raising five well-disciplined children, she was a hostess at Nob Hill. Missing the business world, she decided to go back to GTE where she held a high level supervisory position. She took pride in being a sharp, classy dresser. Her favorite clothing stores will miss her purchases. Besides camping, traveling with Lyle in their RV and her love for the outdoors, she enjoyed bowling, working on both jigsaw and crossword puzzles and making quilts for each of her great-grandchildren. Her love for dogs and animals was a major part of her life, as well. She faithfully donated to the Dane County Humane Society and the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison. Rhoda had many gifts, but one we will always remember is how she could predict a storm before the meteorologists. Joking, having fun and her one-liners is how everyone will remember Rhoda. Of course, we cannot forget the smirky looks. One thing that she looked forward to and never joked about, was her Gin Martini at 5 o’clock every day. She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched throughout her life. Rhoda is survived by her children, Tari Howard of Wausau, Tim (Mary) Good of Tennessee, Tom Good (Jane Nehls) of Watertown, Tracee (Bruce) Ramos of Madison and Trisha Good (Dave Angell) of Texas; 15 grandchildren, Jason (Lyndsay), Eric, Brandon (Meghan), Brian (Alecia), Matt (Rene), Melissa (Josh), David (Qinghua), Taylor, Caleb, Cecilia, Evan, Chad (Destiny Schroeder ), Chelsee, Chase and Amber; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Anita Souther; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents; daughter, Tina; and granddaughter, Alyssa.  A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society or the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison.  Hey, Pep Club members, wherever you are, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!  Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Dr. (608) 221-5420

Sorry to hear of your loss. Aunt Rhoda will be missed by all family members I'm sure. She had that little laugh that I will always remember. You could tell by the way she spoke, she loved you all deeply. Love always, Holly Good

Sorry to hear about Rhoda and the loss to the family. We had many good times together: going on a cruise to Hawaii and the many trips to Green Lake with the PEP club cross-country skiing. We will miss her smiling face and her sense of humor. Love, Chuck and Margie Steele

We were so sory to have just heard of Rhoda's passing. We have many fun memories of all our get togethers with the Pep Club and summer lunches in these past years. Our deepest sympathy to the family. We hope that the memories of all the good times you shared will sustain you and the passing of time will help to somehow lessen your grief. She was a lovely lady and know she is now enjoying life with Lyle again. With our thoughts and prayers, Jim and Mary Ellen Clinton
