Betty Pauline Satrum (née Foote)
March 22, 1933 - March 13, 2018
Obituary
MONONA-Betty Pauline Satrum (née Foote), age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 22, 1933, in Grant County, Wis. Betty was part of large family, including eight sisters and one brother to parents Louis and Lillie Mae (Chandler) Foote. She attended Mineral Point High School, and eventually moved to Madison where she worked for the Dane County Department of Human Services for more than three decades. Betty dedicated her career to building a stronger community and was a proud retiree of AFSCME Social Service Employees Union. She is remembered lovingly as an avid gardener, baker and storyteller, but she was most devoted to her friends and family. Betty touched the lives of many with her delicious cooking and warm generosity, and she especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty will be sorely missed by her husband of 52 years, Gerald; and daughters, Sandra Keast (née Nelson) of Blue Mounds and Patricia Splett (née Nelson) of Madison. She will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Bartle; and granddaughter, Julie Overby. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
