I knew John as my partner's classical guitar teacher, as a terrific jazz player, and as one of the kindest people I've every encountered. John, you'll be missed so much by so many. Ain't no sunshine...

John was one of the the people you felt better for having known. He always had a kind word . My condolences to John's family and friends.

I first met John 50 years ago and once we talked about music, we became friends instantly and never stopped. During our High School years when we had lunch, we would go over to my house and jam. We used to go down to Foster Beach and paint many pictures on “the rocks” right when the sun would rise. Too many great memories as we would always find a way to play music together. I love you brother and will truly miss you. May you RIP my friend. Ted Kalamatas

John provided delightful musical enjoyment for many of the social events held by the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Madison in recent years. We considered this kind and generous man to be a special friend of our Club. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family.
