Obituary
MADISON—Patricia Ann Wilson, age 69, of Madison, died at home in her sleep on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. She was born on Sept. 17, 1948, in Madison, the middle child of five and only daughter of Allen and Christine Wilson. Patty Ann splashed in all the puddles from The Atwood Community Center to Lowell Elementary, sang in the choir at Trinity Lutheran, played violin and acted in musicals at Madison East High School, class of ‘66. Pat graduated in social work from UW-Madison. Hardworking and affable, Pat thrived in service to others and cultivated lifelong friendships with coworkers and clients in many various jobs. Selfless devotion to a brother’s special needs dovetailed with her work as an advocate for our challenged citizens. Patty’s loyalty to “her people” resonated as a staunch voice fighting on behalf of families facing opposing interests. Rising to the struggles of an aging parent encouraged Patty to share her gifts and skills helping others as a Family Support and Education Coordinator for seventeen years at Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin (ADAW), she was well-suited to the task as an energetic and innovative sage while teaching “care for the caregiver.” Pat pulled for the Badgers, Brewers and Packers and lived by the wisdom of Winnie the Pooh. She enjoyed antiquing; rosemaling, Tai Chi and Lutefisk Suppers!?! Pat is survived by her brothers, John of Madison, Tom of St. Paul, Minn., and Don of Platteville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and eldest brother, Allen Wilson family friend, Jody Curley, will lead Patty Ann's Memorial Service. Jody is a dementia care specialist, an ordained interfaith minister, and a published poet and writer.

So very sorry for you brothers and cousins, and for those of us who have lost a wonderful friend. Pat came into the Huseboe family’s life in 1960 bringing lots of laughter and fun into the every-day routine. Fun became “joy” “appreciation” “caring” and “compassion” as we matured with life’s experiences, adventures, and responsibilities,..but Pat always added “giggles” into her recipe for living well. She was a 100% daughter, sister, cousin, coworker, friend, helper, and professional. She was my sister’s BEST of FRIENDS, but many, MANY are ever-blessed with Pat’s irreplaceably vibrant friendship. Until we meet again...I will hold your Patty close to my heart and thank God for the uniquely joyful memories we created and shared❤️.

To the Wilson family, John, Tom, and Don,
My most sincere condolences and deepest sympathies. I shall always have fond memories of Pat during our childhood and teen years when I was a neighbor. As the years passed we did not stay connected and I always wondered if our paths would ever cross again. I am sad they did not.
Pat evolved into a wonderful human being and a great role model for all. Women like Patty are one of a kind. Rest in peace old friend.

I am so thankful for having the privilege to be a friend to the most amazing, kindest and caring person I have ever known. We meet 30 years ago on our first day of our job at the Wisconsin Lottery and remained close friends. I sure was so lucky that day. She taught me the best gift was to always laugh but in losing her I do find it so very hard to do. We had many adventures and many wonderful memories which I will cherish. My deepest condolences to her brothers, friends and especially all the people that she had dedicated her life in helping. Go walk with Winnie. Love and miss you, your friend Mary

I never met Pat in person, but had the blessing of speaking with her through ADAW while my parents were still alive. What compassionate comfort she brought to our conversations. May God bless her sweet soul and my condolences to her family and friends.
