MADISON-Karen Michelle Brown, age 55, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. She was born on June 29, 1963, in Chicago, IL. Karen graduated from MLK High School in Chicago. She worked for Oscar Mayer, Inc. for many years. Karen had a heart of gold and befriended everyone. Her contagious smile and one-of-a-kind remarks will be dearly missed by all. Karen is survived by daughters, Areal Smith, Carie Alexander, Florence Jameson; sons, Charles Murry, James Murry, Anterlo Brown; her life partner, Greg Intlekofer; sister, Ella Brown; brother, Teddy Brown; nephew, Ed Brown; nieces, Juanita Brown, Kima Brown; aunts, Ethel Lee Brown, Olive Brown; uncles, Teddy Brown, Henry Brown; 10 grandchildren; and many more relatives. She was preceded in death by mother, Polly A. Brown; and sister, Wilhelemina Brown-Dowell. A Funeral Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, with Pastor Everett Mitchell presiding. Following the service, Michelle’s celebration of life will continue at the VERA COURT NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER, 614 Vera Ct., Madison. I'm so glad that Michelle became a part of our family. She was one of the most delightful and respectful people I have ever known. She had a wonderful heart and always made you feel she was genuinely happy to see you. I wish I had gotten to know her even better. Be happy in heaven.

Words can’t explain how much I’m gonna miss you! You always made sure I was straight regardless of any situation we were in❤️ I love you so much auntie. I’ll make sure to tell Naomi and Noelle all about you! They definitely missed out on meeting a loving and caring soul! Kiss everybody up there for me. I know you’re having a ball with them!
