OREGON-Todd James “Vito” Vitale, age 39, of Oregon, passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018. He was born on Jan. 11, 1979, in Madison, the son of James and Christine (Conners) Vitale. Todd graduated from Oregon High School in 1997. He had a passion for hockey and played for both the Madison Capital's and Oregon High School teams. He was also a proud member of the Italian Workman's Club. Todd is survived by his mother, Christine Vitale; brothers, Jimmy (Sandy) Vitale and Michael Vitale; maternal grandfather, Robert Conners; aunts and uncles, Bob and Lynn Jones, Carol Conners, May Fendelet, and Kelly, Mark (Mary Taylor) and Bobby Conners; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lawrence Vitale; paternal grandparents, James and Conchera Vitale and maternal grandmother, Marlene Conners. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd. Fitchburg, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I just learned about my friend Vito's passing today. My condolences to his family. Vito was a kind & caring young man. He had a wonderful sense of humor. I was able to attend a couple bonfire bbq's with him earlier this year. You will be missed, Vito. - Mike S

My condolences to the Vitale family, I am sorry to hear of "Vito's" passing. I hadn't seen him in a while but he would always come up and have a great story to tell when our paths would cross. I always really enjoyed watching him play hockey. He lived the way he played , wide open and with passion. My deepest sympathies, Jim Snow.

My deepest condolences to the familia Vitale. I last seen Vito on 9/15/18 at a Men's breakfast in San Diego California and was very excited about life, he had about 90 days clean and was looking forward to his new way of living in recovery.
