James "Jim" R. Green

New Album

Oh my, I am so sorry to read this (but) understand it is part of knowing someone like Jim too. Our history is not long but I have always felt welcomed within his circle and now know more about Jim's early history. Holy Wisdom will be a strength to Bill- we all grieve with him.

Jim was a warm and gentle soul. I enjoyed his company at several retreats and Assemblies at Holy Wisdom. I miss him already.

One of the biggest surprises in moving to Madison and joining the Holy Wisdom community about five years ago was to re-connect with Jim Green. The last time we were together was in Italy in the early 60s when we both were members of the Society of the Divine Word -- Jim a Brother working at the SVD house of formation in Nemi, and I a seminarian 40 kilometers away at the Collegio del Verbo Divino in Rome. We both were in St. Peter's Square on Oct. 11, 1962 for the opening of the Second Vatican Council. I came to know and appreciate him much more during these years together at Holy Wisdom. He was a blessing in the lives of so many.

Jim's gift of self to others will be warmly remembered and appreciated. May he rest in peace.
