Obituary
ROCKFORD, Ill.– Randee Jo "Libby" Banks, age 41, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018. On that day we lost a friend, a daughter, a sister, and a fierce warrior.
Randee Jo was born to Debbie Maher in Syracuse NY on October 11,1977. She was adopted by Dorothy and Clarence Banks and moved to Roscoe, IL.
Randee Jo graduated in 1995 from Hononegah High School in Roscoe, IL Despite struggles with eating disorders, depression, self-injury, she persevered. Always wanting to help others she worked for WAVE, a shelter for battered women in Rockford.
Libby graduated from Rock Valley College in 2008 with an Associates Degree in Arts to transfer to Rockford College where after a diagnosis of Gastroparesis and a stroke she earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in 2014, majoring in psychology with a double minor in early childhood development and art. Her dream was to move to New York City to work for CPS and help abused children.
TV and music were her refuge. Last year she was able to visit the set and watch a filming of her favorite TV show Z Nation in Spokane, WA. She said, “it was the best three days of my life”. Libby also enjoyed art, visiting museums and above all else she loved animals.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Banks; brother, Ronald (Nancy) Banks; sisters, Jessica, Anna and Lisa; dear friends, Leslie and Fran Todd; and many others who loved and cared about her throughout the years.

Libby this just broke my heart. I have known you for over 21 years that's most of my adult life. I met you when my and my kids were in a battered woman's shelter back in 1997. You have been my longest truest friend I have ever had. We became great friends when I was in my darkest hours you shared your light in my life when I needed it most. Never once did you ever leave me in all these year's. You were just over at my house enjoying laughs just like it was supposed to be. No matter what you were dealing with you always kept that smile on your face. We've been through so many tears over the years and my tears fall hard with you gone. And Kyiah is just broken too. Tell Lumpy and Sabrina hello and I'll see you again someday. I love you and miss you so much.
