I was privileged to get to know Sonny and the rest of the Hill family in the past decade through his daughter Kathryn, who was a pride and joy to him. How quickly I recognized what a treasure Sonny was to the Hill family and to this earth. Kind, funny, strong, thoughtful, he led by example. He actively participated in and contributed to his community, and most of all treasured his family. He felt blessed with all life had given him, but his kind nature engendered so many of the blessings he enjoyed. He was a prince among men, a humble man who was grateful and compassionate. His spirit shone through in his daily life, and he could bring a smile to everyone he touched. He'll be mourned and missed by sooooo many, but he has left us all the lessons of a life well lived, and we are all the richer for having known him. Sonny, so glad I knew you, thank you for the memories. I miss you and hold you in my heart. Janet

What a privilege it was to know and serve at Buckeye Evangelical Free Church and Door Creek Church with Kent and Ruth. I have always treasured their friendship and how they have inspired my walk with Christ. Rest In Peace Kent, I will see you some day in heaven.

Ruth-I am sorry to learn of Kent's passing. Perhaps you remember back in the days when Kent and I worked for UW System I would drive into Madison from Stoughton and swing around to your house and Kent would put his bike on my car bike rack so he could bike home after work. I also remember he would take words from the encyclopedia and write out the definitions and I would type them for him. I still have my copy of them somewhere in my "stuff". We had cubicles next to each other at Regent St and we had a lot of conversations and laughs over the years. Kent spoke at my retirement party in l995 and I still have the little bike charm he gave me. Good Memories.
My condolences to you and your family. Sincerely, Marilyn Vandrell
