Jordan Tyler

MADISON- Jordan H. Tyler was born on July 21, 1998, and was welcomed into the family of Mitch Tyler, Kate Blood and his sister, Samantha Tyler when he was just three months old. Jordan died at his home on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, in Madison, Wis. after a whole-hearted and courageous struggle with mental illness. Despite his struggles, Jordan had many moments of joy in his life. As a boy, he would spend endless hours playing with dinosaurs with his mom. He had a special affinity for animals and adored the family dog, Cochi. When taking him for a walk, Jordan was the one pulled around the neighborhood. Jordan had an active imagination and would dress up as a superhero and took great delight in watching Star Wars at full volume with his dad. This love of play soon transformed into a passion for video games. Jordan had a serious side and an intense intellect that lead to many deep and intriguing philosophical conversations. His tender heart shed tears during touching movies. Jordan earned his G.E.D. and held a variety of jobs. He is survived by his parents, Kate Blood and Mitch Tyler; sister, Samantha Tyler-Blood; and nephew, Elijah. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, with a reception to follow. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill). His family offers a special thanks to the mental health liaison with the Madison Police Department, and to friends that enriched and helped Jordan's journey.
