Ronald "Ron" W. Kolar

I was a friend and KC colleague of Ron's in the 1990s. Played golf with him a number of times and----along with Steve Normansell and Jim Krumrey--saw him get one of his holes-in-one at the Breese golf course! A great guy.

OMG - What can I say about Ron? He helped me get a student worker job in the nursing department when I started at Kaskaskia College, which led to my 42 years of employment there. I had the pleasure of working with him in the Student Services department. Looking back, those were some of the most fun years working there, largely in part to Ron’s presence. You always knew (from the ‘inside voice’ or ‘outside voice’) when things were going smooth or not so smooth in the counseling area. I also rode in Lindy’s carpool with Ron and I always tell my husband, that’s where I learned to ‘team drive.’ Great memories of Ron – rest in peace, my friend!

He was one of the nicest, most welcoming people at KC when I got a teaching position there. He cared deeply about students. We drove to school together for awhile and I will remember just how wonderful a person he was. Steve Normansell
