I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Julian. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Julian and the entire Julian family. He was a fantastic surgeon, mentor and scholar. His integrity and love of the practice and teaching of medicine and surgery were incredible. However, the love he had for his family was unsurpassed. My heart is broken, but my memories are very fond and will always be of happiness and gratitude. Dr. Julian, I pray you had a beautiful crossing. Much love and peace, Dr. Shamarie Sais

My deepest sympathy to the entire Julian family for the loss of this great teacher, friend and mentor. Tom was my favorite teacher in the Obgyn residency program and I know that while my class could sometimes give him fits, he cared deeply about our education and always challenged us to be at our best. He had a way of making us think about the whole person, not just their medical issues, a tribute to his compassionate nature that he often hid. I remember him reading The National Enquirer which HE said was so he would know the goofy things that people were thinking. I believe he just liked the quirky stories for his own benefit. His sense of humor was famous as well as his minimalistic use of words. If your work was "amazingly adequate" you were in trouble. I will miss you, Tom. You were a unique and wonderful man.

Dr. Julian was an extraordinary physician who was of great help to our family, to my wife, and to our daughter. He put everyone at ease with a combination of confidence and humility. He was direct. He was both straightforward and kind. We knew he would get us through our crises...and he did. When he talked about his own family, it was with great love. We now send our affection, appreciation and sympathy to his entire family.

Thank you for sharing Dr. Julian with us. His impact on hundreds of young physicians at the University has left quite a legacy. His tough grace, thoughtfulness, and Socratic teaching challenged and inspired us. Our sympathies for your loss.

Dr. Julian was an amazing physician and teacher. He was wise and calm in tough situations. He had integrity. He was willing to say and do what was right even when it was unpopular. I have always counted myself lucky to have trained under him in the last years of his practice, and to have benefited from has surgical teaching especially. My condolences to his dear family whom he adored.
