Janet and I were so sorry to hear of Aunt Joan’s passing. We are in Nice, France and our brother,Rick, notified us of your mother’s death. We will not be able to attend your mother’s funeral, because we will be here until March 2nd. We went to mass today in Nice and said prayers for her and your family. We have many wonderful memories of her and Uncle Eldie. Janet remembers their wedding and the elegant pink and green tea sandwiches that were served. Something we had never seen before. We were only 8 and 11 years old. They always looked so much in love We always looked forward to seeing her, as she wore the latest fashions. Janet says her famous spaghetti recipe originally came from your mother. Another memory is going to their apartment on the east side near B. B. Clarke Park and spending time swimming. We were so blessed to have them as an aunt and uncle. Janet Haakenson and Jean Walrath
