My uncle Larry tried to portray a big VERY tough man, but those who knew him-knew that he was just a big teddy bear! <3. He WAS tough when he needed to be tho. I moved away from WI when I was only 16 yrs old, but stayed in close touch with family including Larry. We talked on the phone (probably) a few times/month. I loved to listen to his excitement over the plans he had for the house in Blue Mounds, and he DID it and added MUCH value to the only house my Grandma (his Mom) I remember visiting while growing up. I think the house is over 100 yrs old. Every time we talked on the phone, he would tell me of his plans and also what was going on in his life. He was ALWAYS upbeat when we talked. Excited over one thing or another. I am going to miss those talks. Give everyone up there in heaven a hug for me Larry.

Larry and I attended grade school in Blue Mounds. We had a total of five in our class. And we went to Mt. Horeb High School together. Larry told us when we were in grade school that he never had a middle name and so he was going to use the initial “B” for his middle name. In grade school he was always so funny being the class clown. I remember building forts with Larry, Joe (deceased, my brother), Phil S. and Arvid, they were all a year younger than Larry and I. Larry was the one that fell in the creek every spring. Always so sure he could jump over to the other side after we made a makeshift bridge. His service in the military speaks volumes of him and all the medals he received. My family members are all buried in the Blue Mounds Cemetery. RIP my friend.🇺🇸✝️ Jean Lampman Jones
