You're not forgotten dearest Aunt, nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory lasts, I will remember thee. Aunt Betty was not only my Aunt, she was my Godmother. She was the first person in my life to teach me about collecting owls. I still have the first wooden owl she gave me as a Birthday gift. She was the Aunt that shared her good looks with my Mother and I sometimes even mixed the two of them up when they were together. She always had time to chat and catch up whenever our paths crossed. I loved hearing about her turkey hunting success stories. I loved that she was brave enough to go to the Desoto cabin alone to hunt and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere when ever she wanted. She was a very strong and determined woman who did what she wanted and made a good life for herself as a single lady in her later years. I love that she stayed close with her sisters and sister-in-laws. I am sad that you are gone, but happy that you are finally at peace and back with your family that has gone before you. I will think of you when the birds sing and the creeks babble. All my love to the Schroeder kids and grandkids and great grandkids. We were all very lucky to have been a part of her life.
