I am so sorry to note that Clare has passed. He was a wonderful human being, mentor and friend. I regret not calling him recently to thank him for his kindness as a friend as well as well as good humor and patience teaching me retina surgery as a young resident. I have not seen Clare the last few years but miss him now and will in the future. My sympathy to Nancy and family. Earl Nepple

What a wonderful physician and talented surgeon. Clare mentored me early in my career during residency and then as a partner at Davis Duehr Clinic. I will be forever grateful. Always upbeat, always humble, great sense of humor. Retina surgery was a tougher and more demanding practice back then. Cases deferred nowadays to the workweek would be done in the evenings and on weekends. He never minded. I remember after he retired, I asked him what he missed most. "The adulation" replied with a quick laugh. God bless you Clare. Dr Peter McCanna

I remember Dr. Hutson and his wife, Nancy, from Trinity United Methodist Church. Dr. Hutson was someone who made my husband, John, feel at home at the church, someone who would talk with any of us about anything and everything, someone genuinely listened to other's experiences, opinions, and ideas. With Dr. Hutson, you knew you were with someone who was genuine, authentic and had great integrity, traits that he shared with his wife, Nancy. It was a privilege to know him, truly a kind and caring man. The story about him always saying to his caregivers, "Let us know if you get home safely," represents the epitome of Dr. Hutson. Dear Dr. Hutson, I rest assured that YOU have "made it Home safely." With loving memories, Chris Wagner
