"Rocky" as we knew him from our childhood days was one of my favorite cousins. My Dad, Dean, was Lila's brother. What an adventure it was for my city family to load all 8 of us into the car and head to the Oregon outskirts to visit the home of the Stone family. There was corn crops, a visit to the barn to see the cows, and Dennis & Jim to entertain us. Aaah, those were the days indeed. I cherished growing up and visiting Jim as an adult. When he would talk about his kids, the great pride he felt was visible in his face and in his choice of words. He was a gentle, funny, and caring man. I appreciate his visits to my Dad (Uncle Dean) in his final years. They are now reunited. My heart is filled with sadness. What a terrible illness. RIP "Rocky" you were the best! Love, Sue

I was so sad to read of Jim's passing. I lived across the street from him and have fond memories of him growing up. His parents were such good neighbors to my mom, Vera McCaughey, when she got older. I was fortunate to get to know him again when Vera moved to Bee Hive and lovely Jodi took care of her. Jim would occasionally visit, and it was always so nice to see him. He was full of life and always had a smile on his face. My condolences go out to Jim's family and especially to Jodi. I can't imagine how hard this is for her.
