Neam Penn

Neam Penn, 75 years of age, passed away on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at her home.

Neam Penn was born July 7, 1946, east of Kampot, Cambodia, to the late Hean (Father) and Soum (Mother) Pen then moved to west of Kampot, Cambodia, where she was raised. She was the fourth eldest of six children, four preceded her in death.

Neam Penn married Tam Pom in 1970, and six children were born from this union. Neam and her family had fled to Cambodia to America when the Khmer Rouge war broke out taking over the country around 1975. She was a very strong and courageous woman. She ran through flying bullets and hid from the Khmer Rouge while protecting her family. Because of Neam’s great love for her family, everyone made it to America safely.

Neam’s favorite things to do while raising a family here was cooking and serving. Neam was an amazing chef. She loved fishing, gardening and going to the Temple with her husband and friends on weekends.  Neam was a very devoted mother and wife, with a heart of gold.

Neam is survived by her husband, Tam Pom; two younger sisters, Nin Pen and Nem Pen; six children, their spouses and 20 grandchildren: eldest son, Savoeun Khoun (Sarim Ses) and their children, Sambath Khoun, Sophorn Khoun, Sophana Khoun, Selena Khoun and Sayda Khoun; eldest daughter, Sophear Pom and her children, Jerry Allen Pom, Tom Pom, Lyna Pom, Mary Pom and Sanford Vongxay; second eldest daughter, Alieza Pom and her children, Johnny Pom and Alexas Pom; second eldest son, Pheap Pom and his children, Dontay Pom and Unique Khuy; third eldest daughter, Veasna Chhum and her children,

Silas Kruschlot Chhum, Starla Kruseda Chhum and Titus Noreaksey Busch; and youngest daughter, Linda Pom (Dana Herron) and their children, Davianna Herron and Daz’Lin Herron.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. @ Jackson St., Stoughton, from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
