Orley W. Jensen, O.D.

FITCHBURG - Dr. Orley Jensen, 94, passed on June 8, 2022, in Oregon, Wis., after a prolonged illness.

Orley was born on March 1, 1928, in South Bend, Ind. to John and Dorothy Jensen.

He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, Marilyn Spencer, and his beloved wife, Karla (Trinke) Jensen of 56 years.

Orley and Karla were married in 1963, uniting two families, raising their children in Madison, Wis.. He is survived by his children Morley (Lisa) Jensen, John Jensen, Klare (T.J.) Leskinen, and Lorie (Guy) Zaricor. He also has a step-son Rob Alexander and three grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 through 1948 in Korea.

Orley attended the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry, receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree.

He was a member of Kiwanis and the Elks Lodge. Orley enjoyed sports and games and was very competitive at both. His favorite pastimes included ping pong, golf, and family gatherings around the pool. Orley loved cards and played bridge and hearts, and late in life still won Rummy 500 the majority of the time.

Orley and Karla traveled the world together, exploring many wonderful places, including Japan, China, Ireland, Denmark, Greece, Mexico, Kenya, and Costa Rica.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

The family will memorialize him privately and wishes to thank the caring staffs at Beehive Homes of Oregon and Agrace HospiceCare.
