We’ll certainly miss Doris, the last of the legendary Niesen sisters: Izzy, Marianne, Rose, Lydia, “Toodie” (my mom), Tess, and Doris. I’m not sure the world will ever again see a group of women like them. Each one had their own special personality, but as a collective, there was probably not a more fun-loving bunch anywhere. My dad told me that he had never seen a group of sisters that were so close and never uttered a bad word about each other. My hope is that Doris is finally having a boisterous, joyful reunion in the next world with the sisters she loved so much.

Deepest sympathy to your entire family. Mrs. Hassett put up with a lot of noise in her basement as Debbie frequently hosted us as rowdy teenagers. Mom was always a gracious, patient and understanding hostess (and so was Debbie!).
