Ricky (Rick) Scott Reindahl

February 25, 1959 - April 08, 2023

Obituary

OREGON-Ricky (Rick) Scott Reindahl, age 64, passed away at home on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from the progression of ALS, an unpredictable disease that advanced far faster than any of us had hoped.

He was born on Feb. 25, 1959, to Willis (Bill) and Beverly Reindahl; the youngest of four children and their only son. He worked with his dad at the family business, Reindahl Trucking and Stone, before taking it over in 2000. He also worked for the University of Wisconsin in the waste and recycling department prior to his diagnosis. He met many people over the years driving trucks and enjoyed traveling the back roads in the area that he knew so well.

Rick loved music especially the southern country rock of the Allman Brothers and other older rock and country sounds. He had several CDs that he would rotate through when traveling.  He enjoyed finding songs to play on jukeboxes that no one ever heard of but ended up liking. Whether is it was shooting pool, riding his motorcycle, bowling, golfing, UTVing, going out for a fish fry, enjoying a steak dinner, or having beverages, Rick enjoyed being around people. No matter where he went, he was able to strike up a conversation with someone. For the last few years traveling to Florida to enjoy the warm weather during the Wisconsin winters became a highlight. He loved eating the fresh seafood and enjoying the music and atmosphere of the local establishments.

We would like to extend special thanks to the family, friends and neighbors who reached out offering help during Rick’s hospitalization in August 2020 and after he came home. Although Covid made it more difficult, he valued the time he could spend with his family and the visits and phone calls with others while he was able. Thank you to the health care staff from SSM, SSM Health at Home, ALS Association of WI, UW Neurology and Agrace Services who provided support during this time. And special thanks to Robin’s employer American Family Insurance for the flexibility they allowed her during this time.

Rick is survived by his wife, Robin; his children, Angela (Bret) Sullivan, Cody (Katie Knoche) and Colton (Cierra Neblett) Reindahl; granddaughter, Alayah and her brother, Derrick; bonus children, Marissa (Tyler Skrobis) Riemenapp and Ethan (Michelle Mumper) Riemenapp. He is further survived by his mother, Beverly; his sister, Karen Truesdell; in-laws, Mary Grindeman, Robert Benish and Roger Benish; his nieces, nephew, cousins, and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his infant son, Scott; father, Willis (Bill); sisters, Pam Ragan and Zoe Thiessen; nephew, Troi; and brother-in-law, Randy Benish.

Please take a moment to remember Rick’s sense of humor and all the good times that he so enjoyed! Be sad he is gone…. but mostly be happy he lived life to the fullest-having fun every step of the way.
