MADISON - Thomas Joseph Zilic, age 74, of Madison, Wis., died peacefully in his home on Nov. 24, 2023.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Zilic; siblings, Anthony Zilic and Barbara Barder; and brother-in-law, Larry Barder. He is survived by his brothers and sister, John Zilic (Virginia) of Houston, Texas, Paul Zilic (Carol) of Naperville, Ill., and Marianne Kennedy (Steve) of Westchester, Ill. Tom had two children, Pamela Johnson (TJ) of Hastings, Minn., and Kyle Zilic (Maretta) of Minneapolis, Minn.; along with three grandchildren, Anika, Lena, and Ella Johnson.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1949. Tom grew up outside of Chicago, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy before marrying Marilyn, nee Breunig, in July 1976. They lived in DeForest, Wis., raising a family together until 1993. Tom then got remarried to Margie Van Styn, nee Malay, in 2002. Tom was an avid bowler and a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs.
A private ceremony will be held for his immediate family at a later date.
