Please accept by sincere condolences for the loss of Ralph. I first met him over thirty years ago when he was "Professor Cagle" at the UW Law School and my teacher for a class titled Professional Responsibility. He had a strong influence on my career as a lawyer through his insightful teaching style. He will be missed. -Joe Mella

Ralph - you will be missed. I greatly enjoyed many years of debates over legal ethics with you, dinners at state bar meetings, and the warmness and fun of your skills class. You were always a bright ray of sunshine, no matter the day or weather. I hope your warmth and belly laugh always shine on your family and friends. You will be missed friend.

I worked with Ralph for a dozen years at the Law School. And as a 27 time World series champion Yankees fan we had a lot to talk about. I probably still owe him a few drinks for the head to head games. We went to a couple Brewers games together which were great times just talking baseball. Ralph will be missed. Go Red Sox!!! yes i said that, he'd be shocked but it was for him

I knew Ralph from my years teaching in the Lawyering Skills Course that he ran. He was not only a stellar role model of how a lawyer can pursue a client's goals with grace, humor, and determination, but was also just a warm and caring human being. I saw him defend some of the LS faculty from some snide comments and he resolutely mediated, over 8 hours, a difficult case of mine. This is a great loss.
