Sorry for your loss but what a wonderful life your family has shared. I too have a shared experience with Long Lake, my parents lived year round on Schnacky Road, just off Eastside Road . My mom was in the choir at the same Lutheran Church and may have played the piano there as well. I live in Stoughton but we have kept the family home on Long Lake in our family. Thank you for sharing some of your family’s memories. Sincerely, Phil Oinonen

Never have I been prouder to be of Norwegian descent. I was a school mate of Jon's throughout childhood; perhaps you'll remember me. Your father exemplified all the traits of strong, innovative, and "stern stuff" those of Norse heritage lay claim to, albeit meekly.
God blessed him with a long and incredible life and legacy; may he rest in peace. With sympathies, Diane (Hofland) Vandiver

I worked 10 years on the orthopedic ward, 4 center at Madison General Hospital . We didn't just work together
, we were family. I suspect Dr Nordby was
thrilled when I found a Norwegian and got married to him in 1971.
He came to visit us in Eidsvoll, Norway and had to leave to visit King Olav.
