COTTAGE GROVE - Cleatus J. Killgallon, age 69, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, at UW Hospital. He was born on July 19, 1954, in Scranton, Pa., the son of Cleatus and Alice (Gettings) Killgallon.
Cleatus graduated from Twin Lakes High School in West Palm Beach, FL in 1972 and UW - Madison. He served in the U.S. Army. Cleatus married Susan Leitch on July 11, 1987, in River Falls, WI.
Cleatus was the co-owner of the Brothers Main. He loved people and being in the public eye.
He had a calming demeanor, no matter how bad things were and maintained his composure and kept a level head. He loved the finer things and found joy in the little things. In the last few years, he had many struggles, but also much happiness.
Cleatus loved music and was a bassist. Whenever life brought him a new beat, he could always find the rhythm. He enjoyed attending shows at the Overture Center and The Fireside Theatre. He loved to travel and made multiple trips to Puerto Rico, hoping to move there with Susan. He was an animal lover and loved owning and taking adventures in his GTO and Chrysler Sebring convertible. Most of all he dearly loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.
Cleatus is survived by his sons, Cleatus Killgallon III (Crystal), Robert (Nik) Killgallon, Andrew (Brienna) Killgallon and Donovan Killgallon; daughters, Carol Ann (Matt) Bayless and Nicole (Christopher) Smith; granddaughters, Samantha Huff, Natalie Kersten, Lorelei Smith and Juniper Killgallon; grandsons, Marc Kersten, Peter Smith and Jack Smith; and great grand-daughter, Rose Meurer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; parents, Cleatus and Alice; sister, Molliana Pazienza, and daughter, Kelly Marie Killgallon.
A private family service will be held at a future date.
