I remember Vern with great fondness. He was an active part of Madison Friends Meeting (Quakers) and worked with me on building repairs and maintenance. I saw and appreciated his joy as he loved Jean Roamer, also a Friend. He was quiet and liked to keep to the background but contributed a great deal to our meeting. It was a privilege to know him.

I met Vern at Kayra, a group for those who have lost their spouse. Kayra would not have survived as long as it did without Vern as president. He was a great leader and a good friend. My heart is broken. 💔 My sincere sympathy to his family. God bless you.
