BROOKLYN - Harry Arthur “Bub” Rust Jr., 79, a resident of Brooklyn, Wis., formerly of Freeport, Ill., died on June 13, 2024, at Oakwood Village West Hospice, Madison, Wis., after many years of health challenges.
Harry was born on July 10, 1944, in Freeport, Ill., to Harry Arthur Rust Sr. and Frances Elmina Haley Rust. He graduated from Freeport High School in 1962.
His lifelong interests included tinkering in his garage while listening to the radio, going to auctions and flea markets, playing cards, shooting pool, and dancing. He thoroughly enjoyed reading the news and watching TV, but his favorite hobby was stock car racing at the local raceway and helping his friends with their cars.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Fran; and his son, Kelly Arthur Rust. He is survived by his daughters, Loretta (Daniel) Noguera of Madison, Wis., and Kathaleen (Brett) Stoffregan of Cross Plains, Wis.; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Lois Rust of Lowell, Mich.; and three grandchildren.
Cremation will take place. In accordance with Harry’s wishes, there will be no memorial services. He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Freeport, Ill.
