Emery "Jay" Baldwin, III

Anyone acquainted with Jay knew that indeed he loved to laugh — loud and boisterous! For one memorable example, there was the time a group of us went to see the movie Airplane!, a parody on disaster movies popular in the early ’80’s. Jay entertained (or annoyed) everyone in the theater. One friend confided that she had gone with us solely to hear that infectious laugh. The attached photo is from May 1981. Terry Risher

I only knew Jay for a short time but it was a privilege to get to know him. Jay was an exceptional man who was my regular visitor through Agrace Hospice Care. We made a lasting connection, particularly because he did some research on my background before meeting with me. I was looking forward to learning more about him, as well. We had North Carolina in common, as we both went to college there. I truly miss the man whom I consider to be a very good person. Bob G.
