Dear Marc--
The death of your esteemed Father is a milestone loss for the family but also for the Madison community whose health was his
vocation. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting your Dad or Mom, your legacy in name, values and honor as their only son lives in you, Juliann & Charlotte who share the surname and enduring affection. The celebration of their lives this summer will be blessed by great memories among the extended family! May their tributes give you solace, Marc. It is my hope that the Schmidt in-laws of Massachusetts may vicariously participate in a videotaped memorial. My condolences to Christine and gratitude to her for years of compassionate care after the death of your Mother and now also of your Father. Your annual visits surely were a source of great comfort for being such a devoted son to them, brother to Christine and uncle to Emmy & Maggie.
With sincere sympathy (my parents died many years ago and their passing remains palpable),
your sister-in-law Mary
on behalf of Gene, Damian & Peter

Dr. Marc and Alice Hansen were a gift to anyone who knew them, whether it was through medicine, music, church, Montana living/loving, homeless friends, or through dear friendship. We are eternally grateful that our family was touched by them; they have left an Indelible mark on everyone who knew them, and their love will always remain within us. May God bless Christine and Marc and their families as they grieve and close this chapter in their lives. Very special people.

Dr. Hansen was a wonderful pediatrician, who took great care of my sons. He also provided great care to the Health Department's Well Child Clinic patients, while teaching med students and residents interested in family and pediatric care.
