Sam and Petie were special friends of ours In Florida. We met them on an airplane trip to Florida. While in Florida Andy and Sam spent many enjoyable times fishing in the gulf. He often joined our family for dinner to celebrate a holiday. Both Sam and Andy were avid Badger fans and had many conversations, especially the past Badger sports events. He was a special inspiration for us and I imagine Andy and Sam are in heaven chatting away!

I first met Sam over 50 years ago & got to know him when I joined the Valley of Madison, AASR-NMJ in the 1982 Spring Reunion. Sam epitomized Freemasonry. He gave so unsefishly to the Valley of Madison & the Madison Children's Dyslexia Center. He was responsible, along with several of his peers, for laying the foundation for making the Valley what it is today. I was very fortunate & lucky to have known him, learned from him, as well as to be his brother in the Masonic Fraternity. Sam will be missed. Matt Hughey

Sam and Petie were great friends of my parents Bob and Greta Michaels. They came up to our cabin and visited many times over the years. Sam was a great guy, and a very wise and friendly guy. He was also a master fisherman and we couldn’t even stop him from getting into the boat as his health was failing. I had great memories of him though out my childhood and later as an adult with kids of my own. He was one of those rare good souls you occasionally meet in life and always remember. God bless him, Sincere condolences, Paul Michaels
