MCFARLAND - James “Jim” Michael Wacek, age 71, of McFarland, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 28, 1953, in Madison, the son of John and Edwina (Flynn) Wacek.
Jim graduated from East High School in Madison in 1971. He was united in marriage to Katherine “Kathi” (Lokken) in 1975 and together they were blessed with two children. He owned his own Brownberry bread route and truck, and worked as a printer and had multiple other jobs.
Jim enjoyed being outdoors - hunting, fishing, golfing and relaxing with family and friends at their cabin in the northwoods. He was an avid sports fan (Packers, Brewers and Badgers). He loved spending time with his sons and three grandchildren and the companionship of his pets, especially his dog Oscar.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kathi; sons, Luke (Denise) Wacek and Nathan (Tammy) Wacek; sisters, Mary Ellen (Jim ) Nethery and Theresa (Ken) Trenary; brothers, Steve (Sue) Wacek, Tom (Karen) Wacek and Bill (Jamie) Wacek; sisters-in-law, Debbie (friend, Mike Locke) Lokken, Carrie (Kent) Cain; and grandchildren, Hunter, Ajah and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edwina; and sister, Tricia Everhart.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. A celebration of life will follow at the Parkside Pub, 5016 Erling Ave., McFarland.
